Lotus Physical Therapy is a physical therapist owned- practice.
Director, Luba Starostiak, physical therapist has been practicing
physical therapy for nearly two decades. She graduated from Hunter
College School of Health Sciences in 1991 with her BS in Physical
Therapy. In 2000, she went on to achieve her Orthopedic Specialist
Certification through the American Physical Therapy Association. She
has been on staff at several New York teaching hospitals including
Hosptial for Joint Diseases, Hospital for Special Surgery and Helen
Hayes Hospital. She has worked in the private clinic setting treating
female pelvic floor dysfunction as well as professional dancers and
gymnasts.
Ms. Starostiak has extensive training and experience in Orthopedic
Manual Therapy as well as Women's Health-Related Issues. She has
appeared as a guest speaker on the topic of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction on
a medical talk radio show. In 2009, she completed 500 hour yoga
teacher/therapist certification through Yoga Mountain Wellness Center.
Her personal experience as a former dancer and current yoga
practitioner bring a deeper understanding of the body and movement to
her professional health-care practice. She is a member of the American
Physical Therapy Association (Orthopedic and Women's Health sections),
the National Vulvodynia Association, the International Pelvic Pain Society as well as the Society for Women's
Health Research.
